Review:
I was so nervous to begin reading this book and I think it’s because I am so incredibly invested in Abby and Nathaniel that the thought that something could tear them apart…even if it’s for mere moments…just guts me. But I should have known to trust Tara…I would make a terrible submissive. SORRY TARA.

Instead of being nervous I was basked in the love that Abby and Nathaniel share. Their relationship is not without ups and downs but it’s always with intense love. Tara shares with us insight into their lives, about ten years into their marriage. I absolutely ADORE that this series makes it clear that their love, respect and friendship only grows in those years.

Both Abby and Nathaniel are a senior members of Partners in Play, a BDSM group. The chapter in Delaware, where they just purchased a house is striving to tighten its rules and member policies as a result of a few unfortunate incidents. Due to their senior membership status, Abby & Nathaniel have been tasked with the responsibility in suggesting some of these changes. They also present demos for other members at play parties and attend conferences where they speak about their experiences. They most definitely live this lifestyle.
Of course, Abby continues to be turned on the most when she’s watched. Nathaniel’s concern over how far Abby’s fantasies will go captures the drama of the plot.
What’s beautiful about this story is that it shows how a relationship can change and grow, be molded and stretched to fit the needs of the people in the relationship. Just because something worked for you five years ago doesn’t mean that it works for you now. These characters recognize their needs and are constantly trying to grow with each other. It’s beautiful, really.
There was a lot of juggling of other characters in this book that had me struggling at times to keep up – and I wished that we saw more of their lives uncollared. While obviously it’s nice to read about the collared moments, I was craving a family scene in the park…or something.
Regardless, I’m always captured by these two. They pull me back into their world, give me a glimpse into their lives and then leave me with a smile. The Exhibitionist is a beautiful reclaiming of an already solid relationship. Get ready to be exposed. 4 stars!
